Let me know it goes with the 4gig. A collegue of mine had
his computer upgraded to 4gig, but it doesn't seem like
XP Pro recognizes it all, although the system is build for
it.
My understanding is that on a 32 bit system, the system sorta uses 2 gig "banks" to add more then 2 gig. If he upgrades to xp64 though, he'll havve full normal access without os bank switching, which will give him a bigger speed increase of course.
Downside is that many drivers still are not written for the 64 bit os...
And that's why I'm going to hold off for just a little while to see how many drivers and whatnots
get up to date to work with that OS, as for right now I can deal with the 32bit version for the time being.
I'll just have to keep my eyes open and watch how things move along.
In either case, I think I'll be having loads of fun until then anyway :)
