Okay, but this would simply be BLOCKING in a new color or pattern.. what I am looking for is a natural looking color or pattern change. Because changing a selection to the color red.. would look cartoonish.. BUT.. if I could have it only change say the red/green/blue but not the texture... then it would look like it always belonged.

think of a man wearing a black suit.. and me wanting to make it plaid.. but keep creases.



Your original query was to change colors on things while retaining shade and tint. Now you have changed the query completely, no? Plaid isn't a color as far as I know.
