Re: Open Photoshop CS files in GIMP

Michael: thanks for the link. It did open it properly, BUT when I
saved it, it did not maintain the layers. Is there any way to save it
so that the layers are preserved?

Thanks again,
Erich

Hi all, I have a file that was created in Photoshop CS that was sent to
me. I have been attempting to convert to GIMP.

When I open the Photoshop CS file in GIMP, it is weird looking (not
what was created!) and doesn't form right. I have the latest version
of GIMP for Windows.

Is there any way to open the file properly (with a plugin) or some way
to convert it?

Thanks a ton.

What is the file extension for that image ??

Probably psd, I assume... So go and get this free application and convert
it to one Gimp can handle:

You're welcome :-)
