I am using GIMP 2 on Linux, Mandrake 10.1, and I am pretty new with the GIMP.
If I hit a tool icon on the toolbar, I get the tool dialog, and I can chose settings.
It opens a dialogue, for example if I hit airbrush, I get the airbrush dialog. But if I hit say brush, it does not open a new dialogue, it simple changes the open airbrush to brush dialogue.
Is there a way to open multiple tool dialogue
boxes? What I want to do is, open the tools I want
to use, and using Linux KDE, open several windows.
I can put my tool bar and dialogues boxes I use a lot on say window 2, and images I am working with on window 3. That way I don't have to waste time clicking and opening tool dialogues.
I may be misunderstanding your question here, but you can add more tabs to the dialog (lower) part of the GIMP main window ('The GIMP') by clicking the left arrow (near the 'x' on the right side) and the choose 'Add Tab' to add more tabs to the dialog.
