other apps are running on top. Are they using all the resources? Some
apps seem to use little processor but hog the interrupts.
Fixed, Starman*. Your comment triggered the connection and I uninstalled
Dragon Naturally Speaking, which I had been using on another computer. Corel
programs now work normally.
Re updates for Corel, I'm an "If it ain't broke don't fix it" person.
I've never installed any updates for Corel products and avoid for
other apps too (apart from security). I usually download updates in
case I need them but only install if it's vital. Those professionally
involved in graphics may have greater reason to keep current.
Everything you add to your pc is a potential cause of trouble. Poorly
written software (perhaps the case with your Dragon software) may be
in your next download/install. It's a good idea to keep an install
log for situations like yours but most people don't bother.
