setting/controlling font size when using PSGML package along with desktopaid and desktop

So I have the PSGML package installed -- I've been using it for a few
years now, tho I'm essentially an (x)emacs newbie in that I haven't
explored it much beyond using it for getting my xml editing done.

up to now, i've had it config'd such that every xml file I edit used
the same face(s) and everything's been fine.

Then I found and installed the desktopaid and desktop packages -- in
an effort to automate and shorten my editing environment setup time
(establish multiple views, load files, etc).

And that went fine if I was editing the one file that I used when I
config'd desktopaid and desktop.

But then I started editing a different .xml file and the font size for
that file is different than the one for the original file, is too
large, and changing the font size using the "Options->Font Size" menu
item doesn't seem to affect it. [all the syntax coloring is fine and
unchanged]. The buffer containing my original .xml file continues to
display the file just the way I want it. But it any other .xml file is
displayed incorrectly.

I poked around in "Options->Advanced->Face" but everything that's
displayed on that customization page looks fine, and besides I'm not
sure which ones out of the plethora of faces therein are actually used
by the PSGML package.

Any ideas on what to tweak to resolve this?

Thanks,
