How about "Linear combinations of phase linear sequences of identical
delay are phase linear."
Note that "Linear combinations of phase linear sequences of identical
delay" are not required to be "symmetric" (using the restrictive
common informal definition of symmetry allowing a center only at a
sample or half way between samples) , even when the original phase
linear sequences happen to be.
