the U.S. get paid a bit more than their equivalent counterparts in
Europe (in lieu of the 5 week vacation, universal health care and all
that goes with the "social insurance", etc.).

the only thing that might be problematic is that i might think that
Wien might be a pretty expensive town to live in. if you make all of
the adjustments for comparison (like US$1.354/E * 37000 E/yr = US
$50098/yr and then add about US$19000/yr for health/dental/retirement/
etc.) you get just under US$70K which is not enough for a family to
live in NYC unless you can find a rent-controlled apartment somewhere
(rots o' ruk). so how much does it cost to live in Wien? i heard
London was at least as expensive as NYC and i might predict that any
of the world-class cities in Europe would be just as expensive.
