What countries are "eastern countries"?

Are there countries in which people don't use the
words "Hello" and "Thank You" when talking to
strangers?

friendly, when I looked these words Hello & Thanks in your reply. Bythen,
I wonder even well educated persons are also much stereotyped and ignorant
of other cultures.
