Re: gdb for Motorla DSP56300 family?

Dear Hans,

please use Suite56 instead of gdb for the 563xx. Use the most simple
and easy way to get access to the 563xx's OnCE debug interface.

You can download this software from
http://www.metrowerks.com/MW/Develop/Embedded/suite56.htm for free. The
documentation is available from the same website as well.

This debugger works with all newer audio evm boads as well as
DSP56311EVM and DSP56321EVM boards that come with a parallel port debug
interface.

If you have one of the older EVM boards like DSP56302/3/9EVM with
serial debug interface you rather use Domain technology's serial
interface debugger instead of Suite51. See:

http://www.domaintec.com/Software.html and download EVM303W.exe from
this site.

Locate the connector and decide which software to use: Parallel goes
with Suite56, serial with EVM303.

Any other solution will be more sophisticated and not worth the effort
to go for one semester course!

All the best

Christian
