how to change receive mode of 5402's mcbsp

Hello,everybody.

I am using tms320vc5402's mcbsp to communicate with ADCs.The ADC is
24-bits,but its command is 8-bits.I am sorry I am not familiar with spi
protocol.When 5402 finishes sending 8-bits command data to ADC,how can
it receive the 24-bits data?

Because 5402 is the master of SPI,it doesn't know it's time to receive
after I change its mode.
