DocuCabinet Alternative ...

Hi All,

I have been using Vixelsoft's DocuCabinet v2.2 for a while now. I am
quite happy with the functionality, however, I am looking for an
alternative for the following reasons:

1. Vixelsoft are quite slow in adding new features and/or updating
their software. It has been more than one year since they've
introduced an update.

2. The software is awkward when it comes to dealing with multiple
libraries. To reorganize your documents across multiple libraries,
you need to switch manually between libraries by exiting the program
and using some other tool (called the Admin Tool).

3. Lack of some vital features like selectively archiving documents/
drawers/folders .. as well as some other features that would make it
even more user friendly.

I have looked at some other tools, like DocsVault, but the main
problem is that it relies on (specifically) Microsoft .Net 1.1 and
will not work with newer versions. The tool is very good, and I am
willing to adopt it if there is a near future overhaul/update (like
removing dependency on .Net 1.1, adding few features to make it more
user-friendly).

Is anybody out there using some Document Management tool for managing
his paper and electronic documents that would match/exceed the feature
set of DocuCabinet?

Regards,
Ziad
