I work with a company that does document management and forms related
solutions. It is true...you get what you pay for. If you can test
this solution, try it out in a demo mode.
RJS Software develops a solution called Electronic Forms which will
allow you to merge text files from your environment into a form. We
also have a solution called IBM Workplace Forms
(http://www.pureedge.com). This is what you are looking for....and has
both a thick client and thin client option for users who need to fill
out a form and capture that information into a database. This solution
sells in a number of formats...both user based and server based. Also,
Adobe develops a solution as well, but the disadvantage of Adobe's
option is you are 100% tied to PDF output as well as there is not
security tied to the fields in the form by user. With the IBM solution
you can identify security based on what user is logged into your
environment.
If you have more questions...or would like to see the solution you can
contact me.

Any suggestions on taking a "form" (out of the many) our employees (me too)
fill out to make it "data entry" via computer?
Someone gave me a program called "FormWorkshop 600" that allows you to
create data entry forms.
I don't want to sound like "you get what you pay for" but it was less then
$10 & I am skeptical.
I will read more on it's capability & try it, but, are there others
(programs) that will let me:
Use an already existing document (scan it and make fields the operator can
tab thru making a normally time consuming
(paper/pen/forwarding/receiving/understanding/entering/etc) operation go
right into a database we can all use & understand.
If I did not explain this properly, please ask me any questions, I am
dependent on your suggestions.
Again, Thanks to a great group.
