Re: Netgear with SBC Yahoo DSL

Thanks all for your helpful replies.

1. It was working without router if I connected Yahoo DSL modem
directly to computer. It is the 4100 ADSL modem.

2. My router's IP was 192.168.0.1 already, so that was not the problem.

3. I tried an alteration of what Kay suggested and that seems to have
worked (I still don't know why). Here's what I did --- I turned off the
DSL modem but kept the router turned on. I set up my username and
password as (XYZ@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and passwd). I set the DNS settings
based on an email I got from SBC Yahoo:
Primary DNS setting: 151.164.1.8
Secondary DNS setting: 206.13.28.12
Then I turned the DSL Modem on and it started working.

I think the main thing was to turn the router on before the modem, but
any of the other things could have fixed my problem.

Hope this helps somebody in the future who is facing a similar problem.
