Extending a Lan 1.5 miles

I would like to extend my LAN to a remote site. I cant run fiber and there
is no Wi Fi path.
What is available is a 1 inch Heliax Cable. I have tried using this in a
thick-net configuration with no joy. The 1.5 mile distance is just too much
even for this large low loss cable. We have some wireless equipment, a
couple of routers and cards that never got used. I was thinking about
connecting them together directly by the cable instead of of through the
air. The cable has about 64db of loss at 2.4 Ghz. Do you think this would
work.
