What I would do is set up one voicemail box for an extension and then
forward that phone to mail. You will still need a password, so just use a
simple one like 1234.

I'm not a telecom tech. I am an IT professional trying to help a client
set
up their NAM for a basic function. I have the documentation, and I do not
mind making the time to learn what I have to.
They have 7-8 employees who work in and out of the office all day. No
receptionist. They want to set the vm up basically like an answering
machine. They want a basic greeting that says no one is available, please
leave a message at the tone. Then they want anyone in the office to be
able
to check the messages when they return. One mailbox, 7-8 "owners," no
password protection.
Could we record 1-2 basic greetings, then straight to a mailbox? Would we
use the general delivery mailbox? Would I disable the AA, or at least
disable the AA greeting, so that the opening greeting would be the only
words the caller would hear?
In such an arrangement, could everyone check the general delivery messages
from their phone, or have to use main ext 221?
thank you,
jm
.
