I have not put this into service obviously, the T1 line won't be live
until tomorrow
Topology, pretty simple f0/0 handles routable devices and f0/1
non-routable NATed by
the router. I was trying to set it up beforehand and thought I would test
the config
by seeing if I could ping the interfaces, I thought even though S0/0 was
down, I should
be able to ping my end of the line.
the interface has to be in up and up state.
For serial interfaces the ping is actually sent to far side and back
So does the state of the serial line only change from down to up when the
line goes live?
One other odd thing in the stuff I got from ATT yesterday, they gave me my IPs
as 1-127 block, but they specified F0/0 to be 129 in that C class. How can that
be?
