It really depends - that is the default SDM IP address, so if SDM is
not installed, or the default startup-config file is not there, and
the config is missing, then it may not come up with an IP. The
easiest way to tell all this is to use the console cable which comes
with the router
Well we only got the box - nothing else... I have got a cable from an HP
fiberswitch - will the pinout be the same, you think?
- this way you can upload the configuration file
directly via copy/paste method into Hyperterminal.
Ok - the file I TFTP'ed? How - by xmodem command? Do I have to do a copy
running-config starting-config before I turn the power?
My 837 takes around 5 minutes to become up - lights start flashing
usually after this - may be shorter, but it seems to take ages!
