I have three or four modems and i have tried to make any of them show
the caller-od but they did not .One of them is "Apache V92-EA Softk56
Data Fax" and the other is "Best Data Data Fax" and i am using Windows
XP and i subscribed in local company caller-id service and the
documentation of the V92-EA mention that it is able to recognize
caller-id and i tested it using the hyperterminal.
Some people told me that some modems even if they are caller-id capable
,they may not work in some countries .I live in Lebanon and the local
telephone company uses Bell202 scheme and SSK modulation .If some body
has a name for a modem that may work here please specify.
If your modem support the caller-id and you have subscribed the caller
id service to your local company, probably the problem is in your modem
driver. Are you trying to show the caller id with a program that using
TAPI interface? To see if it is a problem between the features of local
company there in Lebanon and your modems. open the hyperterminal,
select your modem and make a call to the line connected to your modem,
if the hyperterminal window show the caller id..your modem is ok for
you telephone line.
Bye
