I'm not sure the questions. Each ISDN device typically can talk one
sort of interface, be it PRI or BRI, T1 or E1. U interface or S/T interface.
If you want to convert one to another, (except for the last case) its
going to cost a ton more than getting the proper device in the first place.
Using my favorite box for example, and Adtran Atlas could have quad
PRI cards in it, one quad PRI card that does T1, and one quad PRI card
that does E1. Then you'd map in the proper D channels on the T1 and E1
(channel 24 and channel 15 respectfully IIRC) on each card, and setup
a call map between the two. Note, this solution is going to set you
back over $5,000-$7,000 on new pricing.
You can also stick in a Octal-BRI card into it, and convert PRI
channels into BRI channels and vice-versa, but again, you're looking
at that large price tag.
Even bigger could get you into ISDN soft switches, but you probably
don't want to know the prices of that.
