Well, as far as I know, to move from 1.03 to 1.53 just requires a
backup and restore. Is this what you were asking?

www.ibphoenix.com and/or www.firebirdsql.org. The Firebird project is
moving on at quite a fast rate, so it's worthwhile to keep up to date.
These two sites will let you know all you need to know - look at
mailing lists for future development.

I know nothing about AMBER- maybe you should post to the FB groups?

I understand that you don't wan't to do any more than you want/have
to. You have offered a conversion utility from "AMBER" to FB- which is
great, but I don't think that it would make much difference to do it
for FB 1.53 (the current version), but if you don't want to do that,
then put your code out into the FB groups, and if there is an
interest, then maybe something will come out of it?
Rgs.

When asking database related questions, please give other posters
some clues, like operating system, version of db being used and DDL.
The exact text and/or number of error messages is useful (!= "it didn't work!").
Thanks.
Furthermore, as a courtesy to those who spend
time analysing and attempting to help, please
do not top post.
