Marshall, I crossposted the thread looking for support for his public
debunking (he is a sort of authority in the OO world), and it worked
very well :-)

Thanks to the group!

In retrospect, my decision to trim comp.object in my reply was
probably incorrect. I remain somewhat conflict-averse; it
is a character weakness. My bad.
