Hello
I have a Sybase 12.5.3 on solaris 5.8, when bcp out and in we use the -
A 32768 for network package size and has been like this for a long
time until last week the bcp out failed with the following error
message
bcp TEST...test out /tmp/test.bcp -Usa -Ptest -b -c -A 32768
CTLIB Message: - L5/O1/S5/N18/5/0:
ct_results(): network packet layer: external error: There is a
protocol packet error. An illegal length was received
CTLIB Message: - L0/O0/S0/N0/0/0:
blk_init(): blk layer: CT library error: Failed when CT_Lib routine
ct_results() called.
blk_init failed.
if i run the same bcp on another server and with the same ASE
configuration and same data which was a dump & load the bcp works fine
exactly same comands
If I delete rows from any table on the server in question to have
less then 100 the bcp works fine.
I have opened a case with Sybase but unfortunately they are not very
prompt and they told me to change the additional network memory which
was done and the problem still there ....
Has anyone seen this problem? i did a search on sybase solved cases
and could not find anything relevant to my problem
many Thanks
Maria
