Hi Pablo
Many thanks for the reply. My apologies on not providing much info on
the disk arrangement but it is being specified by a different company.
Will this help?
The disk storage is a SAN consisting of an Hitachi HDS 9585 Thunder
Series array with a CISCO 9509 switch. The fibre channel patching
between the AIX box, the switch and the disk array are running at 2GB.
The storage area for dumping the db to will be RAID5 but I'm afraid
that spin speeds are unavailable at present.
Additionally, the backups will be actioned in isolation i.e. nothing
else will be occurring on the server at that time. I can't comment on
what is happening on the SAN however...
Any thoughts?
.
