What is better? One database vs multiple databases under one engine.

Which scenario should give better performance for Sybase 12.

1 production database with all tables, views etc (of cause there are
standard databases ones here as well).

Multiple production databases with exactly the same total number of
objects but logically segregated.
like loadeddata reportdata etc...

Is there any performance drawbacks?
What kind of overhead should be expected one vs other?
What choice is faster?
What use more resources?
