With all of the rhetoric in MV forums about tools and technologies,
I'm curious about what problems people are actually trying to solve.
<snip>

Off the top of my head:

1. Consuming web services, in particular AWS (Amazon)
2. Creating web services for others to consume via either rest or soap
3. web page mash-ups, incorporating such things as google calendars
and google maps, passing data between those and app
4. On my "someday" list is simple web authentication see
http://www.ideaconnection.com/technology-for-sale/23-Simple-Authentication-for-the-Web-SAW.html
5. Emailing calendar entries that a user can put on their google
calendar, their outlook calendar or any ical calendar when they open
the email message
6. Basics, such as reports or tables of data that a user can see on a
web page and page through, then click to pull up in google
spreadsheets or Excel or download in this that or the other format
including csv, xls, xml, pdf, e-mailed as html or maybe even text.
7. Sending e-mail (from software) that looks right for everyone as
plain old text; same for html with images.
8. Incorporating an editor for a textarea, such as tinymce, where the
editor has an appropriate license (haven't read them to date), or
writing one

There's plenty more, I'm sure. There's only one thing keeping me from
contracting to get these done faster. Take a guess. smiles. --dawn
