Anyone know of a plugin for eclipse or ...
Thanks
Dave, in addition to what Kevin suggested, and this is probably more
for our colleagues than your situation - if you have a Windows box
'here' and your MV DBMS is 'there' you can still make use of MV-server
programs and data to extract code and other info 'here' to work on and
return it 'there'. There are many ways to do this including samba,
triggers, scripts, etc, but I provided on our freeware page a utility
called MVExec that uses mv.NET to shuttle data and commands around a
network. If you already have mv.NET then this is completely free and
you can use it as you wish. If you don't have mv.NET, licenses are
inexpensive, you just need one, and you may find it useful for a lot
of other purposes.
For a specific IDE for D3:
Coincidentally mentioning mv.NET again, the development components are
built into Visual Studio so you can maintain files, dict items, data,
and client and server programs all from the same IDE.
The D3 File Manager (also called the File Mangler) is a bit old,
disused, and disfunctional. Perhaps you could petition TigerLogic to
open source this program so that people in the field might enhance it?
Not quite a mainstream IDE, but if you work in Accuterm you'll
appreciate mvToolBox from DMCons. EXCELLENT software, though very
complex - you get your money's worth when you make use of the massive
number of features.
As far as other mainstream IDE's for MV - nope, can't think of any.
We'll be happy to write something if there is enough demand. :) What
did you have in mind?
