Re: Migration away from mvbase?

That info helps a lot. IMHO, your options just got narrowed to jBase
and Cache, and I'm heavily bent toward Cache in this case. I welcome
an opportunity to try to port some of your files and code to both
platforms on a pro-bono basis to see if there are any immediate
gotchas. If you require a more aggressive process then I will offer
official services.

Wondering if anyone has migrated from mvBase to Jbase, QM, Cache, or
D3? If you have I was would like to know your take on the process as
well as the advantages / disadvantages you found with migrating.

Thanks,

Jim

Little background information:

Main reasons for looking at migrating:

1) Larger system
(Need to have more than 1023 processes.)
2) When looking at larger clients the need for redundancy and
reliability becomes of a greater concern.
3) Evaluating options that we have with other technologies.
4) Desire to reduce administrative complexity.

Reasons why we don't want to change:

1) We know mvbase.
2) Time is money changing our programs will become costly.
3) Long term relationship where they have provided good service

Insights that you all have is appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim
