Tony,
Please cool down. Both parties (you and Grigory) are going too far
away from the topic
Grigroy is a very simple minded person. When you mentioned about
D3REF, he didn't understand why you "messed" it with the topic. I had
told him that you only used it as the example.
He only wants to provide some help to the MV marketing (both D3 and
UV). He doesn't earn any single cent from this DOCUMENATION thing so
please don't get it wrong.
I really don't think Tony is "getting it wrong".
If the original documentation is copyright or registered in some
recognised manner in its "country of origin", then all Grigory has to
do is get the permission of the owners of the copyright/registration
to the documentation to use the documentation in a publication or
presentation and acknowledge the copyright/registration in that
publication or presentation, "public domain" or not.
What is so difficult in that? If the owners of the copyright say
"No", then that's another matter.....
It may not be "Common Law" throughout the world - there are national
signatories to an understanding and acknowledgement of each country
to the copyright laws of other countries, Russia included if I'm not
badly mistaken - but it is "Common Decency"
Or doesn't that carry much weight these days?
"Making money" out of it doesn't even enter into the equation. It is
respecting peoples' right to ownership.
