Interesting. You couldn't tell from the job ads in Australia. There are
appallingly few MV jobs going here. Doesn't worry me too much, because I
don't really want to be working in MV, but still, it should be an indicator.

I've seen quite a few positions advertised here in Aus/NZ lately -
certainly as many, if not more, than are being advertised in the UK.
The money being offered is paltry in comparison when you convert the
currencies though. The openings I've seen recently are mostly for work
on UniVerse with a couple of jBase and D3 jobs/contracts as well (it's
recently become more difficult to distinguish the permament positions
from the contacts). Perth seems strong for Pick/MV. It is revealing
that many of the companies are leaders in their verticals ("...biggest
in the Southern Hemisphere..."; :...only major competitor is
multinational based in US..."; "... undergoing rapid expansion..."; are
some of the things I've been hearing).
