PDF help needed

Groovy guys and gals,

I am working with one of my customers on an electronic transfer of data from
one of their customers. Unfortunately, their customer can only supply the
documents in a PDF format. We are using D3/Linux. Please share with me any
experiences and suggestions you may have on how to get the data we need out
of a PDF. We are open to paying consulting fees as need be.
