Re: D3(NT) vs D3/AIX - your thoughts



You have answered your own question - the app has worked well for
YEARS. Why break things? Does the app use AIX facilities for
"anything"? Perhaps the "more development" you are seeing on D3/NT is
because there are more "issues" (see recent thread about space being
lost from D3/VME on NT)

Plus, don't forget that you will be up for a platform change for the
database (switching from D3/AIX to D3/NT --> chances are that will more
than take care of the hardware cost differential!

If you HAVE to move off AIX, I'd suggest D3/Linux may be a better "safe
harbour" alternative, and on the "tools" side of things, you should
find that the tools will work just as well with D3/*nix
