Re: PDOX 4.5 PRINT FILE LPT3 "not enough disk space"

I ALWAYS use Lesspace, everywhere... period!. - Mike

The continued use of Lesspace implied that the memory issue still
existed, hence my request for clarification. Yes, I know Lesspace
provides other capabilities, but the Lesspace page doesn't give any
hints that the large drive issue is resolved by Win98+. (A google
search also doesn't reveal any information about Lesspace or 2GBfix no
longer being required.)

As Mike pointed out, a couple of DRIVESPACE tests are not definitive,
which is why I wanted more to hang my hat on. The Win98 systems have
been running this mission-critical application for nine years, so I'm
extra cautious about making any changes. (Before that it was running
under DOS since PDOX 3.0)

Anyway, I have removed 2GBfix from all PC's (98 and XP), and everything
is OK so far. I'll let you know if there is anything more to report.
It's certainly possible there is a compatibility issue with 2GBfix and
XP under certain memory conditions, in which case this will fix the
problem. Since each failure indicated "10 more bytes needed" we're
certainly dealing with a borderline condition.

If the problem persists, I will rework the code to use PRINT FILE and
COPY instead of printing directly to LPT3.

Thanks for your sugegstions.
