Excel is a useful tool for debugging Oracle / ODBC access problems.
Except the OP was asking about Crystal Reports and the simplest and most effective solution is to stop using the Microsoft-centric ODBC driver and use the built-in native connection as recommended by both Oracle and Business Objects. -- Daniel A.
