There are several things to be remarked

a) ideally this should be a vendor responsibility
b) however many DBAs don't want vendors dictating them anything and
rightly so, because many vendors (especially those of database
agnostic apps) don't have sufficient Oracle knowledge on board.
c) Most vendors graduated in the Cover Ur Ass science.
Your vendor might decide to play nasty in the future, claiming you
changed the settings.
