I'm deploying EBusiness 11i, for use in a training course.
The intent is to stage the server in a tech support area, test
functionality, and then relocate the server to the training
environment (this is a physical relocation, unfortunately).
I'm concerned about changing the IP address on the server in the
relocation process. I doubt it'll hurt anything, and will likely just
require some changes in client config, but wanted to check.
Is there a risk of changing the IP address on an Oracle Applications
Server once it's been deployed?
Thanks for any tips!

I doubt you are deploying the entire E-Business Suite tech stack
on a single machine. Are you talking about the database? the
app server? what?

But generally speaking you are correct ... changing IP addresses
is a really bad idea. Why can't you put it on the correct network
from the start?

I think that is an irrelevant question. There are so many legitimate
reasons you might want to do that with a training or pre-sales
deployment, the ability to just plug in something fully tested ought
to be a standard and documented thing to do.

The question isn't irrelevant as long as it is difficult to move
pieces of the Oracle tech stack. Understanding why someone can not
do something helps to guiding them to what they can do.
