there is a pre-requisite set of patches for aix 5L (5.3)
and one patch for Oracle 10.2.0.2 which you *must* install.
Assuming that has been done, there are a number
of additional patches and settings that sometimes
help in stabilizing queries gone mad.
But that is very much dependent on what features
you are using:
Is this a case of heaps of SQL gone crazy or just
a few?
Views within views within views?
Very complex subqueries with lots
of (select max(blah)...)?
There are some known problems in these areas
with 10.2.0.2.
Have a look at some of the docs in Metalick
on tuning for 10.2.0.2 and Oracle Apps: it
also applies to some of the other third party
(well, JDE is not 3rd party anymore...) apps.
I'm not in the office at the moment so I can't
check actual numbers but I may be able to pull
in some additional info tomorrow AEST.
