Re: How to restore FRA backup from tape ?

Business case for this "drivel" :

- There is a limit to which FRA size can be increased.
- I may get a requirement where I need to flashback the database to a
point in time beyond the maximum possible retention period.
- For this purpose I want to preserve old copies of flashback logs by
backing them up to tape.
- Also writing to tape has its advantages. (Like additional backup
copy)
- Whenever a request comes which needs flashback logs beyond the
retention policy I need to get the logs from tape.
- For this purpose I need to restore these logs from tape to disk.

Now just SHUT UP and let some knowledgeable person answer this
question.
