Re: Traditional Full Database Export\Import in 10g

Hello Dan,

Why can't you use DataPump to do this?

On this database we had to build the remote system with 10g while the
production is still 9i. SLA requires data to be in sync (which it is
via exp\imp). It was a matter of using available opportunities for
maintenance windows as best as we could.

First chance, we will bring production to 10g. There may be a period
of time where we will have to use traditional exp/imp (10g to 10g)
before able to rewrite jobs for DataPump.

I have been scouring MetaLink and the internet for any. Best I can see
is that the SYSMAN and MGMT_VIEW schema should not be dropped. Also, I
might need to recreate the database control (not sure yet) after each
refresh (boo).

Any suggestions?

Can I use the DataPump with 9i export files (that would be perfect)?

Thanks again,

Michael

The only solution I am aware of is upgrading from 9i. Probably a good
thing to do before 11g shows up next year. ;-)
