(Apologies since it's been a while since I've done 8, but) I think
there may be a couple steps missing from oracle-base and Peter's post.
You may need to stop the microstop distributed transaction coordinator
in order to remove all the files, and as I recall there were some
registry entries that couldn't be removed. But maybe it's just me,
using Windows is like putting on those "see things as a drunk" glasses
and trying to walk a straight line.
