TIMED_STATISTICS and Oracle 8.1.5

Ok,
I want to hear some horror stories about using the TIMED_STATISTICS
parameter in 8.1.5 (unpatched).
I've found some interesting nightmares on the web, but I want to get
everyone's experiences here.
Please also specify your platform/operating system and *exact* version of
the RDBMS.
You can also talk about 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 as well.
I don't have access to metalink, but I can bet there are some interesting
stories there.
