Hi Laurenz ..
Sorry, I should have provided more details in my email. I'm running 9i on my
server, however I wasn't able to find the EM for 9i on oracle.com. The
documentation states that 10_2_0_1 is compatible with 9i .. But I really
don't want to download such a large application. Trying to execute the
command below:
ztcfs0m7% ./emctl status dbconsole
../emctl: Command not found
These are the only ctl files available in the bin directory:
ztcfs0m7% ls *ctl*
agentctl agtctl extractlib lsnrctl0 namesctl
agentctl0 agtctlO lsnrctl mails.ctl oemctl
ztcfs0m7%
When our db was installed, did the installer forgot to install a certain
part? When executing the same command with a different executable:
ztcfs0m7% oemctl start oms
OEMCTL for Solaris: Version 9.2.0.1.0 Production Copyright (c) 1998, 2002,
Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Starting the Oracle Management Server...
Could not connect to the OMS: possible error in the configuration file.
Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a database installed on a unix machine sitting in a lab .. but I
want to connect with an enterprise manager on my PC. Going to
oracle.com,
I see:
Win32_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_1.zip ..
which is massive .. do I need the entire thing, or is there a download
for
just the EM?
I assume that your database is 10.2.0.1, if not, things are different.
Enterprise manager is already installed on your server.
At the command line, ask 'emctl status dbconsole', this will give you an
URL. If the enterprise manager is not running, start it with
'emctl start dbconsole'.
Use the URL from a web browser on your PC.
