We've got a SQL 2000 Server running the Enterprise 120-day trial.
Normally you can retain the information by upgrading it to the full-
blown version of Enterprise edition. However, we have decided to go
with the Standard version instead. Will I need to BACKUP the data and
do a complete install then RESTORE or can I "upgrade" it to Standard?
According to the topic "Upgrading an Existing Installation of SQL Server"
in Books Online, Evaluation to Standard is a supported upgrade. There is
a footnote, about an exception for failover clusters, but since you are
aiming for Standard, I guess that does not apply to you.
I'm a little curious, though, that in this day and age that you have
settled for SQL 2000 and not SQL 2005.
