Re: Find thread on Best match for names

Okay: I'm not sure where your thread went.

Perhaps you could search for it using:
http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=&

For the group location, use:
comp.databases.ms-access
or perhaps you posted at:
microsoft.public.access.*

Was the thread about Soundex()?

If so, see:

Hi Allen,

Thanks for your response.
I think Soundex was also mentioned in the thread, but it was not
exactly the main subject.
Though the Soundex algorithm is interesting, it is not quite what I am
looking for. And perhaps I gave this thread therefore a misleading
name.

What I am looking for is an algorithm that can decide whether two
sentences are almost equal or not.
Such a sentence can be the descriptive name of an article, some other
descriptive text, or - also - the full name of a person.
And if I remember well, that was the subject of the tread.

An example of such a small difference between two sentences is that
one word in this sentence can be written in plural or in singular.

Thanks, HBInc.
