Re: Office 2007 Service Pack 1

Well, it appears the problem user does have Office 2007 SP1 installed.
Does anyone know of any reason why he would get the "database is in an
unrecognized format" message when he's using the same version of
Access??

The 6211 would be a lower number.

(You don't want to test for an exact number, or your code will fail once SP2
is released.)

Thanks, that's very helpful. But the table in your article only lists
one version # for Access 2007: SP-1, 12.0.6211.1000.
What would the version number be if my user had AK27 installed without
Service Pack 1?

In the interface, go to:

The last entry contains SP1 if it has the service pack.

Or, you can examine the version of the msaccess.exe file. The current
service pack for each version of msaccess is listed here:

That page also has a link for getting the version programmatcially:

(In your case, that's not much use, 'coz the code won't run.)

My clients have Office 2007 Enterprise Edition. When they try to open
an ACCDE copy of my Access 2007 database, they often get a message
saying "this database is in an unrecognized format."

I understand this occurs when an ACCDE file created on a computer with
Office 2007 Service Pack 1 is opened on a computer without SP1
installed.

How can I find out whether a particular computer has SP1 installed or
not?

Thanks.
