Help me understand what you mean... By "can anyone do the needful", are you
looking for (1) assistance when you have a specific problem, (1) do you mean
you want someone to design and implement for you for free, (3) you want to
hire someone to create the database for you, or (4) something else entirely?
Here are some answers to the questions: (1) this is what newsgroups are
intended to provide, (2) this is not the purpose of newsgroups, (3)
technical newsgroups are not intended for employment solicitations or other
advertising, and (4) you'd have to explain what you want or need.
In general, I am reasonably certain that the database application you want
to do can be done (depending, perhaps, on the detailed specifications),
Access macros through Access 2003 do not provide error handling which makes
it difficult or impossible to create a "finished application" only using
macros. However in those versions, the Control wizards create VBA code to
handle events and that code includes _some_ error handling.
Additional error handling capability for macros was added in Access 2007,
and the wizards now create macros to handle events. The drawback you'll find
to using Access 2007 and macros is that it is not yet widely adopted, and
(particularly the user interface) represented a significant change from
previous versions. Free help in newsgroups will not be as easy to obtain,
simply because there are fewer people who know Access 2007, and know it
well.
A description of Forms and data to be displayed or entered is useful
information, but Access is different than Excel. In Excel, you usually see
all the data on the work***, so a description such as you provided would
be more useful. In Access, the application is built around data stored in
tables, so a more detailed definition of the data itself, and the tables you
expect to construct would be more useful.
Finally, there are many, many ways of "processing" or "recording" incoming
and outgoing material. You could be receiving and shipping individual units,
you could be receiving bulk quantities and shipping portions of that bulk in
separate shipments, you could be doing something in between and keeping
track of inventory, and detecting re-order points.
To have any idea how to assist you, you first need to answer the questions I
asked in the first paragraph of this reply, and then discuss some of the
later information I suggested. "Assistance when you encounter a specific
problem" can, let me point out, include "specific problems organizing your
data and laying out the tables".
