Re: This newsgroup interface is old ... we need a new forum.

One of the reasons that I left this NG was because of all the BS
and chest-beating.
I see little has changed in that department.

Good newsreaders support complex killfile capability, so you really
don't have to see this stuff, I don't know of any web interfaces
that allow the same killfile capability.

What I have noticed is that some of the REAL gurus and wizards are
still hanging out here, but others have obviously moved on, too.
Gee ... I wonder why?

Perhaps because Access use is on the wane. Perhaps because these
folks have gained new skills that have taken them out of Access
development and on to other things.

BTW, I'm all for the good things that this site has to offer, and
I have offered my help and opinions here before ... at least 1,400
times.

This is not a site. It's a Usenet group.

I think your problems with the "interface" are all cosmetic. I
*hate* web-based UIs because they are slow and larded up with things
I don't need. And they lack almost all of the capabilities of a good
newsreader to filter and search and sort and thread according to
your own needs.

But if you're using Outlook Express, then you're not using a good
newsreader, and that very well may be the source of your
dissatisfaction. Try a better newsreader (I use xNews) and see if it
doesn't improve the experience of reading Usenet.
