Hi, Gord.
I just changed from high-speed cable two months ago. They want too much
money after their merger with Time Warner. They're out of their minds.

Only ~350 miles from Silicon Valley and still on dial-up.
Oh, the irony.... ;)

Perhaps you mean Outlook Express. It's not glitzy, but it generally gets
the job done. There are plenty of other news readers out there if you
don't
care for Outlook Express, although few of them are as popular.
You can include pictures with your posts (either as attachments
Since I'm on dial-up Internet access for the foreseeable future, this
isn't
an incentive for me to read a newsgroup's posts that take a minute or
three
to download each one. I suspect there are others in the same boat.
The site also allows each user to have their own photo album and a
project
journal, which is completely sharable.
I suspect you mean that it would be great for folks to be able to add
their
own personalized avatar and their problem database files as attachments to
their newsgroup posts. If so, UtterAccess.com has these capabilities.
However, I've always found that those experts who can diagnose a problem
without ever seeing the database file have far superior skills to those
who
must see the database file to diagnose the problem. The former type of
expert is in abundance in this newsgroup, as well as in the
Microsoft-sponsored newsgroups. So if you want to get the best answers,
then post questions in these spartan newsgroups. Or if you want to learn
from the masters, then read the archived posts in these newsgroups. If
you
want eye candy or an expert willing to download your possibly
virus-infested
files, then head over to the Web-based discussion forums that allow
avatars
and file attachments.

Hi Folks,
I've been away from this NG for quite a while, persuing other interests
etc.
I have made a few posts / replies here lately, and find this whole NG
thing
a little awkward and cumbersome.(I'm using Microsoft Outlook)
Compare this with the hotrodders.com bulletin board
(http://hotrodders.com/forum/) and you'll see what I mean ... it's
awesome.
You can include pictures with your posts (either as attachments if they
are
from your PC, or as an html reference to a picture from the net. You can
insert hyperlinks captioned "Click Here" etc instead of
("http://blahblahblah.com/whatever.pdf")
The site also allows each user to have their own photo album and a
project
journal, which is completely sharable.
My project journal:

example. <smile>
