IUA 2008 Extended Call for papers

Call for Papers – Now Extended!
Ingres User Group UK Conference 2008

The UK IUA Summer Conference 2008 will be held on the 17th June in
London at the Edgware Road Hilton . This is an extended call for
papers to be presented at the conference.
Due to an unexpectedly strong response that will allow us to run four
tracks, this call for papers has been extended to the 31st March 2008
as with just a few more papers we believe we will be able to run a
fifth.

If you thought you’d missed the deadline you have an extra 5 days and
we would like to hear from you. To present your paper you are invited
to submit a brief proposal or abstract for your presentation. It
should be no more than two brief paragraphs, but it should contain
sufficient detail to allow a prospective attendee to understand what
they will see during the presentation.

Your planned presentation should emphasise implementation issues,
operational issues, or planning issues. Vendors of products or
services may mention their products provided their presentation would
still be of broad general interest to the majority of attendees who
will not buy any products. Presentations that are primarily intended
to promote the products or services of the presenter are unlikely to
be selected.

Please feel free to propose papers on any subject closely related to
Ingres or OpenROAD. Topics we are particularly interested in hearing
about this year include:

? Database Business Intelligence
? Third-party integration Developer Forms
? Applications Migrations
? Open source Management
? Tools & Security

DEADLINE: DON’T FORGET... Proposals must be received no later than
Monday 31st March 2008 for voting and selection to be carried out by
the conference committee. Notification of whether your paper has been
selected will be received by Tuesday 15th April, 2008. Presentation
guidelines, an optional PowerPoint template, and general speaker
information will be posted on the UK IUA website in the near future.

presentations at last year’s event, and with your assistance and
