We have not installed any patches. The parameter psort_nthreads needs to be
set to 1 (the default is 0), otherwise the server freezes on large sorts.
The other issues we ran into were the result of configuring too many buffers
and exceeding the address space limits of the server.

The new server seems to be more dependent on table statistics than prior
releases (which would usually use an index even when no statistics were
present), but generally runs well if statistics are present.

We were also able to eliminate the problem we had in the past with the
database server occasionally being deregistered from the name server when it
wa really busy. If you have experienced this problem, there is a new
parameter, gcn.check_timeout, that lets you extend the timeout period.

We have been running it for a while (9.0.4) and it works at least as well as
prior releases. We have some problems with the DAS crashing occasionally,
but other than that it works OK. Make sure you read the release notes as
the default configuration for sort threads will cause the database to freeze
in a CPU loop.
